Every July and August, supermarkets, fruit shops, and even cafés across Korea are filled with peaches. It really feels like peach season takes over the entire country.

Before moving to Korea, I always thought Japan was the place famous for peaches. But after living here, I realized Koreans love peaches just as much, and there are so many different varieties to choose from.

Some of the most common ones are:
🍑 White Peaches – soft, juicy, and incredibly sweet.
🍑 Yellow Peaches – firmer with a richer aroma.
🍑 Flat Peaches (Donut Peaches) – becoming more and more popular because they're extra sweet and easy to eat.

One thing I noticed is that many Koreans chill their peaches in the refrigerator before eating them. On a hot summer day, a cold, juicy peach is incredibly refreshing.

Summer is also when cafés start offering seasonal peach desserts, cakes, shaved ice, and sparkling drinks. If you're visiting Korea during this time, don't miss the chance to try them.

If you stop by supermarkets like E-mart, Homeplus, or Lotte Mart, you'll find shelves full of fresh local peaches at very reasonable prices. Sometimes they even have samples to taste.

If there's one fruit I'd recommend trying during a Korean summer, it's definitely the peach. Sweet, juicy, and full of summer flavor.
