Hey everyone! Today I want to introduce one of my favorite Korean dishes — Jjimdak (찜닭)!

Jjimdak is a Korean-style braised chicken dish that is rich, savory, and slightly sweet. It usually includes tender chicken pieces cooked in a soy sauce-based sauce along with vegetables like potatoes, carrots, onions, and chili peppers. One of the best parts is the addition of chewy glass noodles (dangmyeon), which soak up all the delicious sauce!

This dish originally comes from the city of Andong, so you might also hear it called “Andong Jjimdak.” It has become popular all over Korea because of its comforting flavor and generous portions, making it perfect for sharing with friends or family.

What I personally love about Jjimdak is how well-balanced it is — not too spicy, but still flavorful and satisfying. You can also adjust the spice level depending on your preference, which makes it enjoyable for almost everyone.

If you ever visit Korea, I highly recommend trying Jjimdak at least once. It’s definitely one of those dishes that gives you a true taste of Korean home-style cooking!
