Hey everyone!
I recently learned about Gyeongju, and it honestly sounds like one of the coolest places to visit if you're into history and culture.
Gyeongju used to be the capital of the ancient Silla Kingdom, which lasted for nearly 1,000 years. Because of that, the whole city feels like an open-air museum. You can find historical sites almost everywhere you go!
One of the most famous places is Bulguksa Temple, a beautiful Buddhist temple that’s also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Not far from there is Seokguram Grotto, where you can see an amazing stone Buddha statue inside a mountain.
If you like unique landscapes, you should check out Daereungwon Tomb Complex. It has these huge grassy tombs that look like small hills—it’s actually where ancient kings and nobles were buried!
At night, Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond becomes super magical with lights reflecting on the water. It’s definitely a must-see spot for photos.
Overall, Gyeongju is perfect if you want to slow down, enjoy nature, and learn about Korea’s deep history all at once. It’s very different from busy cities like Seoul, but that’s what makes it special.
