Korea is one of Asia’s most exciting winter destinations, and its ski resorts are a huge part of that charm. Even if you’ve never skied before, Korea’s well-developed facilities and beginner-friendly slopes make it easy to start.

Some of the most famous ski resorts include Yongpyong Resort, Vivaldi Park, and Phoenix Pyeongchang. All of them are located within two to three hours from Seoul and can be reached by shuttle bus, KTX, or car. These resorts offer a full winter package — ski slopes, snowboard parks, rental shops, hotels, and even water parks.

Beginners can easily join group lessons with English-speaking instructors. You don’t need to bring any equipment, as jackets, goggles, skis, and snowboards are all available for rent. For experienced skiers, advanced slopes and night skiing provide even more excitement.

Après-ski culture is also strong in Korea. After a day on the slopes, travelers often enjoy hot ramen, grilled meat, or a relaxing soak at a nearby jjimjilbang (spa). Skiing in Korea is not just a sport — it’s a full winter lifestyle experience.

If you visit Korea between December and February, adding a ski trip to your itinerary is absolutely worth it.
