Have you ever wanted to enjoy the Han River without the traffic and noise of the city? Seoul has introduced a brand-new way to travel — the Hangang Bus, a public water bus that runs along the Han River.
The Hangang Bus is an eco-friendly transit option that connects seven major locations along the river: Magok, Mangwon, Yeouido, Oksu, Apgujeong, Ttukseom, and Jamsil. Covering a total distance of around 31.5 km, it offers a smooth and scenic ride with stunning views of Seoul's skyline and riverside parks.
What makes the Hangang Bus special is its comfortable and modern design. The boats are electric or hybrid, reducing carbon emissions by over 50%. Inside, you'll find air-conditioned cabins, comfortable reserved seats with tables, and even space for bicycles and wheelchairs.
From July to August 2025, the city offered free trial rides between Yeouido and Jamsil, operating three times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays) for up to 100 passengers per ride. The official public service is scheduled to begin in September 2025.
Whether you're a tourist looking for a relaxing way to see the city or a local wanting a new weekend activity, the Hangang Bus is a fun and refreshing way to experience Seoul.
