August in Korea – Peach Picking at a Local Farm
Early August in Korea isn’t just about vibrant festivals — it’s also the peak season for delicious fruits, especially Korean peaches (복숭아). I recently visited a peach farm in Gyeonggi-do, about 1–1.5 hours from Seoul by train, and had an amazing time picking fresh peaches and tasting them right in the orchard.
The countryside atmosphere was peaceful, cooler than the city, and the scent of ripe peaches in the air was just lovely. The farm owners were super friendly — they provided baskets and showed us how to choose the ripest, juiciest peaches. Entry usually costs around 10,000–15,000 KRW per person, and you can take home some peaches as souvenirs!
A few tips: try to go in the morning (before 11 AM) to avoid the strong midday sun, and wear light clothes with comfortable shoes since you'll be walking around the farm. Don’t forget to bring a cooler bag if you want to keep your fruits fresh until the end of the day.
This is a calm and refreshing experience, perfect for those wanting a break from the busy city and a taste of Korea’s true summer charm.
