If you're planning a trip to Korea and using an iPhone, here's some exciting news: Apple Pay now supports T-money, Korea’s go-to transportation card! That means you can simply tap your iPhone or Apple Watch to ride the subway, buses, and even make purchases at convenience stores—no need to carry a separate T-money card.

Previously, only Samsung and Android users could use their phones to pay for transportation with T-money. But as of early 2025, Apple users can now register and use a digital T-money card directly through the T-money GO app. Once added to Apple Wallet, you’re good to go—just double-click the side button and tap to pay. No more fumbling for cash or reloading physical cards.

💡 How to set it up:

  1. Download the T-money GO app from the App Store.

  2. Follow the prompts to add a digital T-money card.

  3. Top up using your international credit card (Visa/MasterCard accepted).

  4. Add the card to Apple Wallet and start tapping!

This update is a game-changer for tourists—especially since many ticket machines only take Korean cards or cash. Now, you can reload your card with ease and breeze through transport like a local. Just remember: your iPhone needs to support Apple Pay + NFC (iPhone 8 and above should be fine).

Korea’s public transport is already super efficient—and with T-money on your iPhone, it just got even smoother.

Totally agree with this — it’s honestly a big upgrade for anyone visiting Korea.

I’ve been using it recently and the convenience is on another level. Not having to carry a physical T-money card anymore makes things so much easier, especially when you’re moving around a lot during the day. Just tapping your iPhone or Apple Watch and getting through the subway gate in seconds feels really smooth.

What I like the most is the recharge part. Before, you had to find a machine, deal with cash, or sometimes run into issues with foreign cards. Now being able to top up directly with an international card removes a lot of that friction — especially for short-term travelers.

Also, combining this with a good mobile plan makes the whole experience even better. I’ve been using Chingu Mobile here, and having stable data + eSIM means everything—from topping up T-money to navigating routes—just works seamlessly without any stress.

Korea was already easy to get around, but this definitely makes it feel much more “plug-and-play” for tourists 👍
