The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Association announced on the 24th that they have designated the eight days from April 25 to May 2 as “Seoul Welcome Week 2025,” during which a variety of programs will be offered for international tourists.

This year’s Welcome Week is themed “Seoul’s warmth stays with you,” emphasizing hospitality that leaves a lasting impression, even after a short stay.

The city will operate a “Seoul Welcome Station” in front of Myeong-dong Migliore (Exit 6 of Myeong-dong Station), a popular spot for foreign visitors. Six multilingual staff members (two each for English, Chinese, and Japanese) will provide tourism information and consultation services.

A range of events is also planned, including:

• A traditional Korean daenggi (ribbon hair accessory) experience

• A lucky draw event offering Seoul-themed goods such as mother-of-pearl mirror keyrings

• Mini-games with prizes like the “Seoul Palaces Integrated Admission Ticket”

• Welcome goodies such as green aurora-colored popcorn paint cans for visitors to the Welcome Center

In addition, welcome events will be held at seven tourist information centers, including Namdaemun and Itaewon. English-language welcome messages will be displayed on outdoor billboards in areas like Hongdae and Gangnam, as well as on the top signs of around 2,000 taxis.
