One of the most famous treats in Gyeongju is Gyeongju Bread (경주빵). This is a small pastry filled with sweet red bean paste, with a soft and slightly chewy outer layer. You can easily find it at bakeries near Gyeongju Station or around the Bomun Lake area. I bought a box as a souvenir, and everyone loved it!

If you’re looking for a hearty meal, I highly recommend trying Ssambap (쌈밥) – rice wrapped in fresh leafy vegetables and served with various side dishes like grilled meat, kimchi, and special dipping sauces. There are many great Ssambap restaurants near Daereungwon Park and Gyeongju Central Market. It’s the perfect meal after a long day of walking and cherry blossom viewing!
