During my trip to South Korea in January, I had the chance to experience a Jjimjilbang – a traditional Korean sauna. Amid the freezing winter, it was truly an unforgettable experience. I visited Dragon Hill Spa in Seoul, one of the most famous Jjimjilbangs.
After changing into a comfortable outfit, I entered the warm space filled with various sauna rooms, each offering different temperatures, from hot salt stone rooms to cool ice rooms. Each room provided a unique sense of relaxation. I particularly enjoyed soaking in the outdoor hot springs, feeling the warm water melt away the winter chill.
I also tried roasted eggs and sikhye – a traditional sweet rice drink. Simple yet delicious, they added to the experience. Visiting a Jjimjilbang not only helped me relax but also gave me a deeper appreciation of Korean wellness culture.
