I went to Gwangju last weekend and wanted to share a bit about my trip! It was a short getaway, but really refreshing. I took the train there, and the ride itself was pretty comfortable.

Gwangju has a nice mix of city vibes and culture. I visited the 1913 Songjeong Station Market and tried some local street food. Everything was so good, especially the tteokgalbi! I also walked around Asia Culture Center — the buildings are really modern and cool to look at, even if you’re just strolling.

What I liked most was that the city didn’t feel too crowded, so it was easy to relax. The people were friendly, and the food prices were reasonable compared to Seoul.

If you’re thinking about a weekend trip in Korea, I think Gwangju is a great choice. Good food, chill atmosphere, and lots to see. I’d definitely go again!
