If you live in Seoul, you’ve probably noticed things are kinda messy lately because of the bus strike. Buses are a huge part of daily life here, so when they stop running like normal, everything just turns into chaos.

Basically, the drivers and the bus companies couldn’t agree on stuff like pay and working conditions, so the drivers decided to go on strike. From their side, they say the hours are long and the job is stressful, but the pay doesn’t really match. The companies, on the other hand, say money is tight and it’s not that easy to raise salaries. And yeah… when talks break down, boom, strike happens.

For regular people, it means packed subways, way longer commute times, and a lot of annoyed faces in the morning. If you usually take the bus, especially in areas without good subway access, it’s even worse. Taxis are harder to get, and everyone’s just rushing around trying to figure out another way to get to work or school.

It’s definitely super inconvenient, but at the same time, some people understand why the drivers are doing this. They keep the city moving every day, so their working conditions do matter.

Hopefully both sides can work things out soon, because honestly… everyone is tired of this already 😵‍💫
