If you live in Seoul or are just visiting, you’ll probably end up using the bus at some point — and honestly, it’s one of the easiest ways to get around the city. Seoul’s bus system is super well-organized, and once you understand the color system, everything becomes much simpler.

First, the buses are divided by colors.
Blue buses go long distances across the city, connecting major areas.
Green buses are for shorter trips and usually connect neighborhoods to subway stations.
Red buses are express buses that go from the suburbs straight into Seoul.
And yellow buses mainly run around downtown areas like City Hall, Jongno, and Dongdaemun.

One of the best things about Seoul buses is how often they come. You usually don’t have to wait long, especially on main roads. Even late at night, there are night buses (the ones starting with “N”) that help people get home after work, concerts, or late hangouts.

The payment system is also really convenient. You just tap your T-money card or transportation card when you get on and off, and transfers between buses and subways are discounted. No need to worry about cash or buying a new ticket every time.

Another nice part is the real-time information. Bus stops show when the next bus will arrive, and apps tell you exactly which bus is coming and how crowded it is. So you don’t have to guess or stress about missing it.

Overall, Seoul buses might look busy, but they’re actually very reliable, affordable, and easy to use. Once you get used to them, you might even prefer them to the subway — especially when you want to see the city while you ride 🚍
