In many neighborhoods around Korea, you may notice stray or community cats living nearby. These cats are usually not abandoned pets, but cats that were born and raised outdoors. Many local residents quietly look after them by providing food, water, or shelter.

Some of these cats may have a small cut on one ear. This means they have already been neutered and vaccinated through a TNR (Trap–Neuter–Return) program, which helps control the population in a humane way.

If you see food bowls or small shelters outside, please understand that they are often placed by volunteers and neighbors who care about these animals. Removing them can make it harder for the cats to survive, especially during cold or hot weather.
