Summer is here, and eating watermelon has become my favorite—especially in Korea’s hot weather. Watermelon is sweet, juicy, and really refreshing! But after finishing it, dealing with the trash is quite a headache.
Korea has very strict rules about trash sorting and disposal. You can’t just throw away watermelon rinds and leftover fruit any way you want. Watermelons are big, and sometimes I can’t finish them in one day. Storing the leftover pieces and handling the waste is quite troublesome.
Also, watermelon rinds can spoil and smell bad quickly in the summer heat. If you can’t throw them away promptly or find the right trash bin, the smell becomes unpleasant. While enjoying this delicious fruit, I also get a little frustrated with the waste management.
