On news shows that Paik's coffee will increase prices on 28 items from May 22. This includes 21 beverages and 7 desserts or goods, with price hikes ranging from 100 to 300 KRW.

The price of a regular Americano will rise from 1,500 KRW to 1,700 KRW, and a large Americano from 3,000 KRW to 3,300 KRW. However, the iced Americano will stay at 2,000 KRW.

The company cited rising coffee bean costs, high exchange rates, and increased labor expenses as reasons for the change. Paik’s Coffee contributes to about 40% of total sales for its parent company, The Born Korea.

Other budget coffee chains, like Mega Coffee and Compose Coffee, have also recently raised their prices. Mega Coffee, for instance, raised its Americano to 1,700 KRW last month.
