Last weekend, I had the privilege of traveling to Seoul, the capital of South Korea, to reunite with a friend I hadn't seen in years and spent an incredibly enjoyable time there. Seoul blends the hustle and bustle of modern urban life with the charm of traditional Korean culture, adding a lot of fun to our itinerary.
We first visited the famous Myeongdong shopping street, where we not only experienced Korean fashion trends but also tasted many authentic snacks, such as crispy fried chicken and sweet, non-sticky Korean pastries. Then, we strolled to Gyeongbokgung Palace, a historic palace that transported us back to the time of the Joseon Dynasty and imbued us with a rich historical atmosphere. In the evening, we chose to stroll by the Han River, where a gentle breeze caressed our faces, and distant city lights reflected on the surface of the river, forming a beautiful picture.
In addition to these classic attractions, my friend also took me to some places that locals frequently visit, such as a traditional tea house hidden in alleyways. There, we tasted authentic Korean green tea and listened to the owner share stories about tea cultivation and production. Such experiences have deepened my understanding of Korean culture.
