We bid goodbye to Gwangju and head for Jeonju
Stopped at Jungnogwon Bamboo Forest in Damyang. Abt 35-40 min away. Took us 1.5 hrs to get to Jeonju Hanok Village. Driving here is super stressed as the roads are narrow and there are loads of tourists. Had to go stop by the side after 2 rounds to ask for directions to Raon Hanok Stay. You can only park at a big public carpark as all the Hanok stays are in little alleys within the village. Very nice hanok stay with cafe above overlooking the village. Paid 120k for 2 nites. Breakfast is included. Owner recommended lunch at a restaurant across the road from the big carpark. It is a white building & the korean name is in the pic. Most do not have English names — Hanok Village, Jeonju City에서
What a lunch! We had pork bulgogi set which had 2 soups & it is 12,800 per pax. Lunch also comes with 16 side dishes plus a fried fish & deok galbi (pork patty)!!! 😱
Super delicious! We were so stuffed that we have to skip dinner. Explored the village & visited Gyeonggijeon Shrine. It is some special day so admission is free (normally it’s 3k won)
They also have a concert at the main entrance. Very entertaining. Went to look for 2 filming locations for kdrama 25,21.
The house where Na Hee-Do stayed & the Hanbyukgul Tunnel.
It was dark by 6 & we headed to Jaman Mural Village which was near to where which is about 200m across the main road from where we stayed. Very colourful murals. Activities tend to slow down by 8pm as most places will be closed by then.
Tomorrow will be to Daedunsan for some hiking!
Cheers for now 👌
