It's been four years, it feels like such a long time! The last time I saw them in concert was four years ago. March and April both count as spring, right? The last time we met and the upcoming meeting are both in spring, which feels like a unique kind of romance for us? But that concert was cut short by rain halfway through. Even though it was early spring, it was actually freezing, and I ended up being sick on and off after I got home. Another spring, another BTS concert. The waiting time felt so slow and agonizing, but now that we're about to meet, I can only sigh: time really flies!

Because I needed to find my way around, use maps, and provide a phone number for beauty salon appointments, I did a lot of research online before coming. In the end, I chose a Korean SIM card that I'd used before and that many people recommended. I ordered it from a friend's website and picked it up at the airport. While waiting for my luggage, I contacted customer service. After getting the SIM card, a customer service representative guided me through activation, so it didn't take up much time. My friend said it would be even more efficient if I had KakaoTalk.

The entire trip, from landing, getting the SIM card sorted, dropping off my luggage in Hongdae, and topping up my transportation card, went incredibly smoothly. I even managed to get to Hapjeong Station in time to take photos of the cherry blossoms while the sun was still strong! It feels like if it rains just two more times, the cherry blossoms will be gone.

With this much smooth sailing, I have to pray for the ticket for the 12th to also smoothly enter my account [praying hands emoji].

Honestly, I was super nervous before coming! But the members were in such great spirits that I felt energized just watching them. I haven't felt that urge to not waste any time while traveling in a long time. I've even planned that if I can't snag a ticket, even if I can't see the concert, I won't let Seoul's good weather go to waste. I plan to visit a few cafes I've bookmarked or head to the beach for some photos!

I'm really looking forward to this week. It feels like I've instantly

been transported back to my most youthful years.

Recently, the Korean music scene has witnessed a major comeback wave. The two top male groups, BTS and EXO, released their new albums almost simultaneously and launched global promotional campaigns, generating a huge response from fans both at home and abroad. As a dedicated fan of BTS, I specially planned my itinerary one month in advance and flew to Seoul specifically to attend their limited-venue concert held at the Gyeoseong Sky Dome. From the moment I landed, I could see support posters everywhere on the streets, theme advertisements in the subway stations, and joint products displayed in the convenience store windows. The entire city was immersed in the K-pop craze.
In such high-density crowd and network usage scenarios, a stable mobile network becomes the key guarantee for the viewing and performing experience. I chose the short-term travel SIM card launched by ChinguMobile - this is a local communication brand dedicated to serving international tourists. It supports plug-and-play functionality, no need for real-name authentication, and offers multilingual customer service support. After activation, the actual download speed was measured to be above 120 Mbps, and the upload speed reached 35 Mbps. What's more surprising is that during the concert, when tens of thousands of people were simultaneously browsing social media, uploading short videos, and interacting and voting in real time, my phone still remained smooth: high-definition live streaming was not buffered, Instagram Stories were uploaded instantly, and even using Zoom to remotely share the live stage situation with friends had no delay. In addition, this SIM card also includes a combination of 1GB of high-speed data per day and unlimited low-speed data, covering practical needs such as social sharing, daily navigation, translation, and ride-hailing, truly achieving "star-watching without worries, travel without hindrance". For overseas tourists planning to attend the concert or have a short trip to South Korea, this small but reliable SIM card is undoubtedly an important plus point for enhancing the digital experience.

I’ve been flying so often it feels like I’m taking a high-speed train 😂
I’ve put together a few tips that I think are worth knowing, if any experts have more advice, please share!!

1. Accommodation:
Both concerts I attended were at KSPO Dome (Olympic Park Station), so I stayed near Jamsil—and it turned out to be pretty great.
There are quite a few bars nearby, but the hotels themselves are clean, and honestly you don’t spend much time inside anyway.
The main advantage is convenience: transportation is easy, and even late at night you can still find food. I stayed in Hongdae before and felt it was too far.

2. SIM Card:
You really can’t get around without internet. It’s best to have a local number too—it makes things like restaurant waitlists much easier.
I got mine from Chingu Mobile; right now you can apply with just a passport, and the SIM won’t get canceled after entering or leaving the country, which is awesome.
I’ve also used an eSIM before—very fast as well.

3. Transportation:
Definitely get a Climate Card. I mostly rely on the subway and rarely take taxis.
From the airport, I highly recommend the airport bus—the stairs at Seoul Station are no joke, especially when dragging luggage 😩

4. Luggage:
Travel light, seriously. After a few trips, you won’t feel like buying many souvenirs anyway.
But if you plan to buy concert merch, make sure to leave enough space in your luggage!

For those about to become hardcore fangirl/fanboy , hope this helps 😆

Every spring, the Sinjeon area of Seoul hosts a romantic and passionate cherry blossom festival. As one of the most representative university streets in South Korea, Sinjeon is adjacent to prestigious universities such as Yonsei University, Ewha Womans University, and Hongik University. Hundreds of trees of the Kanzo Yoshino cherry blossom are planted along the streets. From the end of March to early April, the pink and white petals blanket the entire street like a cloud or mist. The cherry blossom trees are mainly concentrated in the Sinjeon Road, Yanhe Road, and the entrance of Hongda. The cherry blossom avenue in front of the main entrance of Yonsei University is the most famous - it not only has a wide view and a long tree age, but also forms a unique landscape with the campus buildings and classical stone steps, combining academic atmosphere with natural poetry. During the flowering season, local residents and tourists come in a continuous stream. Some stop to take photos, some sit on the ground for picnics, and some student clubs hold small concerts or reading clubs under the trees, adding youthful vitality to the spring. In addition, the Sinjeon business district often launches limited cherry blossom-themed coffee, desserts, and cultural products in conjunction with the flowering season. Some merchants will also extend their business hours to create a "night cherry blossom stroll" experience. It is worth noting that the Seoul City Government releases an "apricot blossom forecast" every year and updates the flower conditions in real time to facilitate public planning of cherry blossom viewing trips. Sinjeon is located north of the Han River, with a moderate altitude and stable microclimate. It is usually one of the areas in Seoul's urban area that blooms earlier and has a longer flowering period.

So I thought I’d share a few things I’ve noticed in case anyone else is deciding.

One of the first things people mention about phones in Korea is the camera shutter sound.
Phones sold in Korea always make a sound when you take a photo, and you usually can’t turn it off, even if your phone is on silent. At first, it does feel a bit awkward — especially if you’re trying to take a quick photo in a quiet place — but after using it for a while, you kind of just get used to it.

On the plus side, phones bought in Korea are generally pretty good when it comes to eSIM support. If you travel often or switch plans, it’s actually really convenient not having to deal with physical SIM cards. You can just activate a plan online and start using it right away. For people who move between countries or use short-term plans a lot, this makes a big difference.

If you look at phones bought back home, the situation is a bit different.
A lot of models come with dual physical SIM slots, which is actually super practical if you regularly use two numbers — for example, one for personal use and one for work, or one local and one international. You don’t need to think about setup or compatibility, just insert both SIM cards and you’re good to go.

So in terms of daily use, it really comes down to what you care about more.
If you like the flexibility of switching plans easily and not dealing with SIM cards, then eSIM is really nice. But if you prefer something simple and stable, especially if you always use two numbers, then dual SIM still feels more straightforward.

Price is another factor. Sometimes phones in Korea can be a good deal, especially if there are promotions or tax refunds. But depending on the model, prices back home can also be competitive, so it’s worth comparing before deciding.

Personally, I feel like if you’re staying in Korea for a while or travel frequently, getting a phone with eSIM support is definitely more convenient in the long run.
But if your priority is just reliability and using two numbers easily, then a dual-SIM phone from back home is still a very solid choice.

Just some thoughts from my own experience

In Korea, people call this “꽃샘추위 (Kkot-saem Chuwi)”, which literally means “the cold that is jealous of flowers.”

It’s a short cold snap that happens in early spring, usually around March. After a few warm days that make you think winter is finally over, the temperature suddenly drops again. Because it often happens when spring flowers are starting to bloom, Koreans jokingly say the cold weather is “jealous” of the flowers.

During 꽃샘추위, people often feel confused about what to wear. One day you might wear a light jacket, and the next day you suddenly need a winter coat again. Because of these sudden temperature changes, many people also catch colds around this time.

Even though it’s a little annoying, 꽃샘추위 is also seen as a sign that real spring is coming soon. After this last bit of cold weather passes, the temperature usually rises steadily and the flowers fully bloom.

So if you visit Korea in early spring and suddenly feel a cold wind after a warm day, don’t worry — it’s probably just Kkot-saem Chuwi, the “jealous cold” of spring!

If you want, I can also make a shorter / more casual version (the kind people often post on English free boards in Korea).

For international tourists, the tax-free service means not only being able to enjoy immediate tax refund benefits when purchasing goods, but also significantly reducing the overall shopping cost. This is especially evident when choosing luxury goods, cosmetics, electronic products or high-tax clothing items. The store usually has a professional tax refund service counter, supporting various refund methods such as on-site cash refund, credit card return to the original account or mail-in checks, and has staff proficient in multiple languages to assist customers in completing the refund process smoothly. In addition, the store clearly marks the range of goods eligible for tax refund, the minimum consumption amount and the required documents (such as passport, entry stamp, shopping invoice, etc.), and provides bilingual guidance, greatly enhancing the convenience and experience of foreign customers. Some stores even cooperate with global leading tax refund companies (such as Global Blue, Planet) to support electronic tax refund forms and fast customs clearance services, making departure tax refund more efficient and smooth.

The trees haven’t fully bloomed yet, but they’re expected to start opening toward the end of the month. Once they start, the whole city slowly turns pink and it becomes one of the most beautiful times of the year in Korea.

If you’re planning to see the blossoms in Seoul, there are a few spots that many people love visiting. Yeouido Hangang Park is one of the most famous places, with long streets lined with cherry blossom trees along the river. Seokchon Lake is another beautiful location, especially with the lake views and the blossoms surrounding the walking path. Namsan Park is also a great place if you want a slightly quieter atmosphere with great views of the city.

Even just walking around neighborhoods or smaller parks during this time can be really special because cherry blossom trees are everywhere. If you’re visiting Korea around the end of the month, you might arrive just in time to see them start blooming.
